Sam Hober Policies

Please email us with questions on construction or size before making your order and we will be happy to answer your questions.

Please let us know in the notes area when you checkout if you would like us to use your pattern from an old order.

Changes in your order are normally not possible.

If you email us right after you make your order we will try to help you, but it may not possible, as we start on your order very quickly so that we can stay on schedule.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for any reason other than our errors. As an example we do not offer a refund when you change your mind about a color, fabric, construction, delivery date or size.

The reason for our no refund policy is that we have a very small profit margin and allowing exchanges, refunds etc. adds to our costs, which would require us to raise our prices, which no one wants.

To help with colors, textures and fabric weights, swatches for most of our fabrics are available for purchase. Swatches are the only way to ensure an exact color, weight or texture.

We try very hard to have accurate colors but different monitors will show different colors - so please order swatches before your tie order, as we are not responsible if what you receive is not the color or shade that you saw on your monitor.

We use our Sam Hober Tie Guide to explain our tie making policies, which include our accepted variances. Please note that your measurements may not be the same as ours.

It is very normal for ties to contract when being shipped after being worn a few times they will be the correct size.

We have an approximately 1/4 inch in length and 1/8 inch in width variance in your finished tie. We cut accurately but hand made ties will expand and contract on a daily basis and this is both normal and a good thing.

We do not make delivery promises as we are artisans and work very slowly and carefully. If you have a special event such as a wedding let us know and we will do our best to help you.

If you find that within 30 days of receiving your order that the construction or fabric condition of your order is not acceptable, email us with a note explaining the problem and a request for an exchange or refund, which we will carefully consider.

We use our daily experience making ties and other items to decide if we have made an error and by making your order you accept our policies.

If you do not provide us with your measurements, after a short wait we will use our judgment for your measurements and construction.
