The design for these Mogador striped ties started off with a very dark 1920s Casablanca type look which upon reflection was adjusted up in brightness a bit until we ended up with a soft blend of colors.
Mogador is a plain weave fabric with fine ribbs similar to faille made with a mix of silk and cotton yarns.
The fabric's feeling is firm and the colors are a soft but bright matte.
The Mogador name is from a port in southwest Morroco on the Atlantic where it orginates. Although the name seems to have changed around 1956 to Essaouira.
