Grenadine silk is a loose weave that naturally makes perfect full sized knots with beautiful dimples using a four-in-hand knot.
Please note that we do not advise using a Windsor knot with grenadine silk as the knot will tend to be very large.
If you intend to use a Windsor knot as a sartorial experiment please be sure to let us know so that we can make the neck area of your tie narrower than usual.

However, we are happy to make a standard tie for you which will work well for most men.

Our standard tie is made with a 3-fold construction with a 57 inch length and 3 3/4 inch width.
In our workshop the tie is hand-folded, and sewn with a hidden stitch to close the back, which gives the tie a soft natural drape. The back is finished with a slipstitch at both ends.
The interlining is made with the finest Italian interlining wool. The keeper loop is sewn into the seam, which assures that it will last for years.
The tipping (on the underside of the tie) and the keeper are made from the same silk as the front of the tie.
After we make your pattern we carefully cut by hand the silk for each tie, one by one.
Please note that the photographs do not do the silk justice; in real life the silk takes on a new dimension and looks positively alive.
