Made with 100% English woven silk.
There is enough silk left for one tie.
Our standard tie is made with a 3-fold construction with a 57 inch length and 3 3/4 inch width.
In our studio the tie is hand-folded, and sewn with a hidden stitch to close the back, which gives the tie a soft natural drape. The back is finished with a slipstitch at both ends.
The interlining is made with the finest Italian interlining wool. The keeper loop is sewn into the seam, which assures that it will last for years.
The tipping (on the underside of the tie) and the keeper are made from the same silk as the front of the tie.
After we make your pattern we carefully cut by hand the silk for each tie, one by one.
Please note that the photographs do not do the silk justice; in real life the silk takes on a new dimension and looks positively alive.
