Shipping, Customs Duty, VAT and Other Taxes:
We ship from our workshop in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Our shipping rates include our shipping and handling costs, you may still be responsible for Import Duties and Taxes levied against your shipment by your country.
Sam Hober is not responsible for any delays or expenses in shipping associated with customs difficulties.
For more information, we suggest contacting your local customs office.
We accept Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
If you find that within 30 days of receiving your order that the construction or fabric condition (as for example a pull in the fabric, spot or damage in transit) of your order is not acceptable, email us with a note explaining the problem and a request for an exchange or refund.
Please note that we do not offer refunds or exchanges for any reason other than our errors.
As an example we do not offer a refund when you change your mind about a color, fabric, construction or size.
To help with colors, textures and fabric weights swatches for most of our fabrics are available for purchase. Swatches are the only way to ensure an exact color.
Please email us with questions on construction or size and we will be happy to answer all your questions.
The reason for our very limited refund policy is that we custom make all our ties to your length, width, knot and shape etc. which means we would not be able to resell your tie.
Also refunds typically require us to pay credit card fees twice - for the sale and for the refund.
Our limited refund policy helps us to keep our prices low.
All refunds are made in the same way that payment was made.
Sam Hober is committed to protecting your privacy. We know that you care how information about you is used, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so in an honorable manner. We ensure that none of the information you provide will be traded or sold.
All information collected (during the initial sign-up process, for example) is routed through an encrypted Secure Socket Layers (SSL) connection for your protection. SSL is the industry standard for concealing information on the internet.
We feel that an organization's responsibility to society is determined by that organization's collective talents and inclinations; accordingly our mission is to promote traditional weaving and dyeing and the crafting of fine neckties, pocket squares and scarves.
We do not consider it enough to simply trade fairly with our craftpersons and suppliers; whom are our family, staff, friends, and neighbors. Instead, we have a commitment of respecting and encouraging all stakeholders who take an active part in the company’s mission.
This respect takes many forms ranging from taking part in local ceremonial traditions, to preserving arts that are in danger of being lost, to sometimes something as practical as encouraging a student to stay in school, or a grandmother to take her vitamins.
For our clients our respect is shown by providing traditional handmade products that we make ourselves and sell in a simple old-fashioned way.
We enjoy taking the time to provide you with what you want and answering your questions is a pleasure rather than a task.
