Pinch the middle of the pocket square and pick it up.

Pocket Square 1st fold

As you pick up the pocket square tuck the sides in as in the diagram.

Don't worry it may take a couple of trys to get it just right, but soon you will have it perfect.

Pocket Square 2nd fold With one hand firmly holding the pocket square, use your other hand to gently gather it closed.

Now gracefully gather up the bottom of the pocket square.

Here is a variation known as the Guido Puff:

  1. Here is a variation of the pocket square puff fold known as the Guido Puff:

As the story goes Guido a distinguished and dapper Italian gentleman discovered this puff fold variation while shopping in a Hermes store.

Lay the square down flat and pinch the center, as if to achieve a puff

    1. Let it dangle loosely as in the puff
    2. Now, instead of pulling down on all the corners, pick one up about one inch from the edge, let the corner dangle free and bring the pinch up where the ceter of the square is
    3. Repeat for all corners – you now have 5 puffs (middle plus four corner puffs)
    4. Stuff and display, taking care that the corners themselves do not show

The benefits are that it is a rich display (lots of volume in the puffs) and you get to show the pattern more, as the traditional puff tends to only shows the heart and/or the edges.
